Role Description

This is an on-site role for a Small Animal Associate Veterinarian based in Port Huron Township, MI. The Associate Veterinarian will provide medical, surgical, and preventative care to companion animals, with responsibilities including conducting examinations, diagnosing illnesses, developing treatment plans, performing surgeries, and educating pet owners. The role also involves participation in collaborative care with a dedicated team of veterinary professionals to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.

Qualifications

 

Proficiency in diagnostic, medical, and surgical procedures, including soft tissue surgeries
Strong communication and client education skills to promote the health and well-being of pets
Ability to work collaboratively with a team of veterinary professionals, including assistants and technicians
Familiarity with advanced veterinary equipment, such as digital X-rays, ultrasound, therapy lasers, and in-house lab testing
Commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality care with a focus on patient and client experience
Veterinary degree (DVM or equivalent) from an accredited veterinary school
Current veterinary license in Michigan or eligibility to obtain one
Experience in a clinical setting is preferred but new graduates with strong skills are also encouraged to apply

Duties

Conduct thorough physical examinations and diagnose health issues in small animals, including dogs and cats.
Perform surgical procedures, including spaying, neutering, and minor surgeries, adhering to aseptic techniques.
Administer vaccinations, medications, and treatments based on veterinary best practices.
Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and instructions to pet owners.
Maintain detailed medical records, update patient histories, and accurately document all treatments.
